In the continuation of the Golden Compass, Lyra travels through a portal in the sky to another world that is plagued by specters, smokey see through creatures that feast on adults souls, but not seen or bothered by children. Lyra meets a boy named Will, who comes from yet another world, and has his own problems and motives. Together they must solve many mysteries about the universe, Dust, and their own destinies.
I liked this book and I think it was perfectly paced and action packed. I also like that the author is not afraid to bring tragedy to the story, because in some book everything always works out perfect and happy ever after, but this author has a perfect bland and it makes the story much more believable and interesting.
Good point about the author's willingness to include tragic events. Did you enjoy this as much as Northern Lights?
