I got this book for Christmas and just recently started it. It's about this boy (Number Ten Ox) who is in a peasant village in Ch'in dynasty period China. Children in his village have fallen sick with the plague, and he goes to get a wise man from the nearby city. He ends up with Master Li Tao, and they go on a crazy adventure to cure the children of Ox's village. It's supposed to be based on a traditional Chinese folktale, but it spins off quite a bit from the real story. There are a few other books with different stories, but still Number Ten Ox and Master Li.
I really liked this book and I really wish there was more than three. I couldn't put it down and read it really really fast. I liked how silly and ridiculous they were. There's a bit of adult language and like, so I would recommend it only if you can handle it.
