Zoe's second review of "the ruby in the smoke"
After Sally Lockhart gets interrupted from her talk with the man named Marchbanks, she leaves and the old evil woman who interrupted her follows her. Then, Sally comes across a photographer who lets her hide in his tent. When the old woman finally gets off Sally's trail, Sally gets on a train. In the train she finds a diary. Most of it's in a differant language, so Sally can't read it... but she knows it's important.

I think the diary is from her dead father... I'm not really sure though because the book is kind of hard to understand.
